Step-by-Step Exercise: Gain Application

Post by steffendasenbrock » Thu Jun 20, 2019 8:29 am

This post offers a quick introduction into the usage of openMHA. In this example a gain is applied to an audio signal. This is covered in section 3 of the Getting Started Document (displayed below) which you can also download under the following link:

http://www.openmha.org/docs/openMHA_starting_guide.pdf

If you have questions about this part feel free to post them here. For other topics regarding the Getting Started document find the corresponding post to that specific section.

UPDATE 08-12-2020:
I used Wayback Machine to download a version of Jack2 (0.3.13.10) from July 2020.
With this version, I no longer experience this problem, so this is a temporary workaround.

Hi!

I have followed the starting guide (http://www.openmha.org/docs/openMHA_starting_guide.pdf) and have installed openMHA via the installation from Windows on https://github.com/HoerTech-gGmbH/openM ... LLATION.md. I have MATLAB 2020b installed too, and I’ve installed JACK2 via the 32-bit Windows installer on https://jackaudio.org/downloads/.

I have problems connecting Jack to openMHA. I’m following the example “4.2 Starting openMHA with JACK Input/Output”. It is possible to start a Jack session, and there doesn’t seem to be any errors (see attached jackstatus.png).

The Jack-server is connected fine – I can connect a mic input to an output and hear it in.
And now for my error. When I try to read a config-file, I get “Unable to load library “MHAIOJackdb”, see cmd_prompt.png attached. I can see that the MHAIOJackdb.dll file is located in C:\Program Files\openMHA\bin.

I've been trying to figure out how to move forward, but I have not been able to find any solution, nor has anyone who has used openMHA that I know experienced this. I hope you'll be able to help me swiftly, as I'm under a bit of time pressure.

Thank you so much in advance!

best,
