I have attempted to plug a mic into line in 3.5mm connection, but it does not seem to function.
Is there some setup needed?

Headset volume
On the browser screen there is a volume control. It works when a headset is attached line out, but does not seem to do anything when using the headset connection.
I must be missing something. Some other setup needed?

Thanks. My installed python3 was Python 3.7.6
This feature must have come later. Need to remember to stay current on my Mac and RasPi
